A good set up can transform an instrument’s playability and tone to greatly increase player comfort, ‘feel’ and satisfaction.
Since starting the Zone of Tone website in 2003, I have had several hundred vintage instruments pass through my hands. Many of these needed some repairs, adjustment or general ‘TLC’, so over the years I have learned from luthiers and violin makers to develop repair and set up skills.
Many ukuleles suffer from poor intonation (that is, do not sound in tune as you play up the neck). I have particular experience in solving this and other uke problems.
Meanwhile, any well loved acoustic or electric guitar will benefit from the occasional set up and service, not to mention structural or cosmetic repair if some damage has occurred.
Please free to get in touch to discuss any repair or set-up requirements.
